Popular Attractions in Seminyak

Known for being the most upscale region on the island of Bali, Seminyak has much to offer in the way of popular attractions, from sunny beaches to award winning restaurants. Whilst you might be tempted to lay back and enjoy the luxury and comfort of Villa Rakun, there is just too much to see and do to keep you still for long.

Seminyak: Bali’s Land of Spas

When taking a much needed holiday, Seminyak is one of the best locations in the world to visit as it is quickly becoming known as the land of spas. There are numerous spas in this small coastal area of Bali that cater to those looking for the amazing health benefits of spa treatments and massages. Guests have quickly spread the word that one of the most memorable times spent in Seminyak was time spent being pampered in spas such as The Private Spa Wellness Center, Prana Spa or Jari Menari, which appropriately means ‘dancing fingers.’

AJ Hackett Bungy

Perhaps one of the most novel experiences when staying in Seminyak is the AJ Hackett Bungy which is located at the seaside nightclub, Double Six. Of course bungy jumping from 45 metres above a pool is going to be thrilling at any time of day or night, but what sets the AJ Hackett Bungy apart from other bungies around Bali is the fact that it is open all night. Jumping to the beat of dance music makes this an experience like no other although some prefer riding the elevator up in the day in order to see the wonderful view just before taking the plunge.

Award Winning World Class Restaurants

Not surprisingly, there are a number of award winning restaurants in this resort area of Bali. International fare can be tasted from almost any ethnic cuisine, but visitors are especially fond of the traditional Javanese and Balinese establishments. Favourites include the Sarong or ‘La Lucciola where you will experience the renowned Bali sunset at dinnertime like nowhere else on the island. Another popular restaurant is Breeze at the Samaya which is world renowned for luxury cuisine and service.

Shopping in Seminyak

In keeping with the character of Seminyak, shopping here is totally upmarket with a number of trendy shops from designer clothing to exquisite Indonesian antiques or eclectic housewares. Additionally, there are several art galleries where works from some of Bali’s most notable up-and-coming artists are displayed. If you are looking for the perfect souvenir to take home with you from your stay in Seminyak, these might be the shops to visit. Collectors from all over the world have become enthralled with Balinese art and one day these pieces may be worth a tidy sum.

Fun Activities

Once you have had all of the pampering you can handle, remember to schedule time out of your day to partake in one of the many leisurely activities on this part of Bali. One popular way to see the beautiful lush scenery and beaches is to go horseback riding with a professional guide. This is a particular favourite amongst couples looking for some romance. Otherwise why not rent a surfboard and ride the phenomenal waves at Seminyak beach? The beach usually has fewer beachgoers compared to others which makes for a relaxing and refreshing session.

Although Seminyak is the costliest area to stay in by Balinese standards, the prices are actually quite reasonable in comparison to other resort locations around the world. Even so, staying in the lap of luxury as you will be doing at Villa Rakun and going forth from there to experience some of the most novel entertainments is well worth any cost. The sights and sounds of Seminyak will create memories that will be cherished for years to come.
